What Customers Say About FoodSaver 3-Piece Canister Set:

If you only believe one review this year, make it this one. In the garbage now. Why won't they fix this issue.

Since then foodsaver has either changed the type of plastic or the wall thickness as the new clearer color ones all develop pressure cracking on the bottom. Just reinforce the bottom with molded ribs or find a new plastic. Should get 0 stars.Bought a set of these canisters 5 years ago when the color was a dark smokey brown, and they were fabulous.

Look at ALL the bad reviews with cracking. Returned for another set that did the same thing. Lousy customer service charges shipping that is half the price of the product.

Actually, for the price they should be Lexan. Don't waste your money.

I don't know what these other reviewers were doing, but I have been using these containers and other FoodSaver canisters for years. These canisters are a perfectly fine product if taken care of properly. Also, they were not meant to keep food vacuum packed indefinitely. I've never had one that didn't hold the seal. That is true of ANY food vacuum storage system. Are you people putting these in the dishwasher. Unless one has a crack in it(and I only have one that has a crack.I dropped it), they hold their seal. You need to read the instructions for care when you purchase them.

Are you dropping them repeatedly on the floor. People do some really weird things with products so I wouldn't be surprised. They only delay food spoilage. EeeGods and Little Fishes people.

So easy to use. A guy I work with has had his for years with no trouble; he bought the first FoodSaver that ever came out and it's still working like a charm. I know the lettuce would have been turning brown after two days if I'd just left it in the package.Of course, I can see how these would be more useful with long-term storage items, rather than things you'd use every day. I would have liked it if the canisters were actually a little bigger so that I might use them for flour and sugar. I have been using the littlest one for dry pasta and I think it will work great for that purpose.Overall these things are amazing. The big one kept my lettuce fresh for a full week (pre-shredded Romaine) and probably would have kept going if I hadn't used it all. I actually love them.

I also put some tomatoes in the middle-sized one and they were still looking fresh when I used them after a week. The canisters didn't even break when I was re-sealing them while still cold from the fridge. I've only had them for a few weeks, but I've used them in the fridge and out, for liquids and solid foods, and I'm about to take them on a test drive in the marinade department. I have a small kitchen and unfortunately can't sacrifice the room to leave the FoodSaver out all the time. The large canister isn't large enough to store a whole bag of flour, so that's a bummer. I still could, but I'd have to store the leftovers from the bags, so that kind of defeats the purpose. FoodSaver is fantastic. Now that I've used them and like them so much, I may even purchase some other sizes.

I was hesitant to even use these with all the bad reviews, but they came packaged with my FoodSaver so I wasn't risking anything if they broke. I just hook the hose up, press down on the FoodSaver and wait for the vacuum to shut off. Who wants to pull out the FoodSaver every single time you want some potato chips and need to re-seal. I would not store things that will be consumed quickly. I really didn't even need directions. After owning one for just a few weeks and already seeing a cost savings on the groceries I haven't had to throw out, I am hooked.

I cannot recomend the canisters highly enough. Never lost a seal, never had a lid come off unless I didn't seal it, and never had a crack, and I have dropped mine before. The common sense part is that you NEVER EVER put plastic in a dishwasher and use heat to dry. Some people just don't have any common sense.I generally use my canisters for excess foods when I buy in bulk at Sams Club. This goes for all the different types of containers. I am shocked and awed by all the poor reviews. I guess my dad was right. I have had my FoodSaver and canisters for about 3 years now. Handwash the lids.

Then there are times I have left food for a couple of weeks and come back to find the food is as fresh as when I first put it in. You are asking for trouble. Gotta love it. I buy the giant cans of chili. They are great. It really is very simple.

These canisters have saved me mucho dinero on food that otherwise would have spoiled and been wasted. I am primarily the only one that eats this regularly, and I put the excess in the large canister. I seal and open, seal and open time and time again. No reason to put these in the freezer.

Apparently, my family and I are in the minority when I say we love the FoodSaver and its canisters. If we don't finish an entire chicken during the week there is no spoiled food to worry about. We start each week with food prep to make the days ahead much simpler. The large canister is filled with cooked chicken, the medium usually cut veggies and the smaller has raisins and dried cranberries. We've had freshly cooked chicken last over 19 days while sealed in a canister. Our raisins taste exactly like they are fresh out of the package every single morning and carrot sticks are crunchy and vibrant (not white and flimsy).
